The Sirens Crew will be reprasenting at the Girls On Top jam 2012 tomorrow at Heatham House. Come down and watch loads of female graff writers from all over paint peices on the theme of 'sweets', plus DJs and videos... Its going to be a goodun
Nice little video by Philip Proctor (print-temple) of graff in Miami. Made with photographed stills and a sick backing track. www.print-temple.com sells original artists prints, check 'em out!
Rodney Smith, aka Roots Manuva, has been on my faves list since I first heard Brand New Second Hand back in college. The erie bass on 'Strange Behaviour' still gives me goosebumps while 'Inna' 'Movements' and 'Big Tings Gwidarn' are bangers. Roots Manuva is playing LANDAN TAN on saturday night at the Roundhouse, Camden promoting his new album and tearing it up with some classics too. The Sirens crew will be there, will you?
If you havent had your head buried in the sand for the last month you will have heard about the recent laws that US congress and other EU contries are trying to pass called SOPA, PIPA and more scarily and absolute ACTA. As a webhead and techgeek this news is huge to me as it could potentially affect my business, but at ground level it means that the freedom of speech of the internet & opensource and as we know it will change dramatically.
This video has been knocking about for a while but it's the first time I've seen it and it's hilarious and disturbing in equal measures. If nothing else it's a stern warning about the need to educate and arm yourself with knowledge in the fight for justice. This guy happens to be a law student. Few people who deal with police are as clued up on the law (or if they are its based on experience rather than study) but watching this it's clear that it pays to push back. You will end up getting nicked, but you'll have made your point and stood up for your rights.
Just got back from an amazing couple of weeks in Thailand soaking up the xmas and nye sun. Luvvvvvly. Nice to see so much action on here from my girl Candie Bandita. Need to get my posting game back on.
So much respect for this Berlin based crew 1UP, Watch them as they paint a train while its pulled into a station, under the cover of the New Years Eve fireworks. Epic.
